Monthly Report for the situation of the Roma Rights
in Macedonia ( September 2010)
The Roma Rights Forum “ ARKA” with the help of Balkan Trust Democracy started with permanent following of the situation of the Roma in Macedonia , making monthly reports distributed to all relevant institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations which take care for the protection of the human rights. The project will be in touch with the Institutions and will inform them and the medias about cases with elements of offending the human rights.
Roma Registration and Personal Documentation
Project Title: Roma Registration and
Personnel Documentation Project: Registration for children
without birth certificates, ID-cards and other personal
documents for Roma with the purpose of helping Roma achieve
basic human rights.
Target Group: Roma people from Kumanovo and Skopje.
Time frame of the project: Januari-December 2009.
In the period of 4 years ARKA has had about 2000 cases and has provided over 7000 documents.
Human Rights Support Project
Providing free legal help to the alleged victims of the
police abuse by policeman of the MOI as well as initiating legal
and institutional reforms to improve the protection of human
rights in relation to the police.
Target group: Citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.
Until present ARKA has worked on 73 cases of police abuse.
